TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Swansea! This is the Swansea Scoop, the newsletter that's basically melting into your inbox this morning ☀️

It's been a scorcher! The type of weather where the sand burns your feet and your car feels like a fan oven. Hope you managed to find a cold drink and a bit of shade somewhere.

This week, Russell Kane brings the laughs to the Grand, Swansea Half Marathon takes over the seafront, and Gŵyl Tawe returns to the National Waterfront Museum with a free day of Welsh music and culture.

All that, plus the Down By Here launch party, Swansea Indian Mela, D-Day commemorations, and 40+ more things to do across the city.

Whatever you're up to, have a good one and I'll catch you on Wednesday!

Andrew.

P.S. Over 11,000 Swansea locals now read the Scoop! Know someone who’d enjoy it? Forward this email to them and ask them to subscribe for free.

Free live acoustic music every Saturday this summer at Urban HQ 🎵

Pull up a chair in Urban HQ's sunny city centre courtyard and enjoy free live acoustic music every Saturday this summer - a different local artist each week, running until August 29th.

Grab a cold beer, a glass of wine, or a coffee, and enjoy the music - plus, their café also serves a delicious selection of freshly prepared brunches, lunches, and sweet treats, with plenty of vegan and gluten free choices available.

This summer's lineup includes Carley Knight, Joseph Lewis, Chris Keys, Scott Tancock, Dai C Thomas, Gareth Lewis & Ben Reynolds, Carly Tucker, and Smokey and the Band.

And if it rains? No problem - the music moves inside to Urban HQ's spacious café.

🎟️ Entry is free with no booking needed - just turn up! Urban HQ is at 37 Orchard Street, Swansea, SA1 5AJ.

FOOD & DRINK 🥙

Looking for a fun and relaxed way to meet new people and make friends in Swansea. Join us at the Swansea Scoop Dinner Club - the next one is on Thursday, June 11th in Mumbles.

Here's how it works:

  • Take a quick quiz to tell us about you, your food preferences and the people you’d like to meet

  • Get matched with five strangers we think you’d get along with well and head to a great local restaurant for the evening.

  • Meet all the other tables at a surprise after-party bar nearby after dinner.

It costs £9.95 to save your seat, you pay for your own meal and drinks and we handle everything else - matching, reservations, and reminders - all you have to do is turn up and have fun!

One recent diner said: "This was my second attendance and I really enjoyed it. The restaurant was lovely, the conversation flowed easily at dinner. I love that I can just go out for a nice meal, no pressure of finding someone to go with or worrying about paying for someone else.

More than 200 people have joined us at dinners so far, so why not give it a go? Partners and friends are welcome (add a plus-one on the booking page).
