TOGETHER WITH
Good morning, Swansea! This is the Swansea Scoop, the local newsletter that keeps you in the loop on everything Swansea.
It’s been another scorcher in Swansea this week – the kind of weather where your car becomes a sauna, the beaches are packed, and finding a fan in the shops is a non-starter.
To top it off, IRONMAN’s on today and half the roads are closed, so probably best to take it easy. So grab a cuppa (or an ice-cold drink) and plan a fun week ahead – everything from the Mumbles Raft Race, to Tommy Cooper, and musicians from Welsh Patagonia.
Whatever you're up to, have a good one and I'll catch you on Wednesday!
Andrew.
P.S. Thousands of Swansea locals read the Scoop! Know someone who’d enjoy it? Forward this email to them and ask them to subscribe for free.

Boot up! Gower Walking Festival tickets are on sale
The Gower Walking Festival is back for its 22nd year, running from September 5th–13th with more than 30 guided walks across the peninsula.
There's everything from gentle seafront strolls to proper off-the-beaten-track hikes, taking in Gower's coastline, wildlife, industrial history – and the characters from the past who helped put Swansea on the map.
New for 2026! A singing walk through native woodland and a beach clean to close the festival.
And with routes for all abilities, there's a walk for seasoned walkers and first-timers alike.

WEDNESDAY'S SCOOP (ICYMI) 🦢

A few weeks ago, a Mumbles artist stood in the middle of Apple's headquarters in California. That artist is Tom Mead, the man behind Silt, the eerie black-and-white underwater game built from his hand-drawn artwork.
This week, Tom told us how a windowless cupboard in Bristol changed his life, why he's still scared of Beatrix Potter, and how he plans to turn Swansea into a "Welsh surrealist stronghold."

THE DIGEST 📰
💔 Bonnie Tyler, Swansea local and one of Wales's most celebrated voices – best known for Total Eclipse of the Heart and Holding Out for a Hero – died this week aged 75.
🚗 Swansea’s new Copr Bay North car park is opening on Monday at 6:30 AM.
✈️ Three historic aircraft are heading to Swansea Bay for this year's Wales Airshow - including a very rare Spitfire.
🦢 The first of five large-scale murals on Swansea’s new city centre trail has been completed.
🌊 New images of the proposed Swansea Civic Centre transformation have been released, showing a proposed aquarium, saltwater lido, and more.
🚡 Tree felling on Kilvey Hill is set to continue over the coming months as work on the Skyline Swansea gondola line moves forward.
🍀 A Swansea family syndicate thought they had won £1 on the lottery - then spotted a £1m bonus in their account.
⚽ Swansea Council is set to consider selling the Swansea.com Stadium to Swansea City FC.
Follow us on Facebook for daily Swansea news! Just the good stuff - no clickbait, pop-ups, crime, or politics!
