Good morning, Swansea! This is the Swansea Scoop, the newsletter that’s like getting a full-size chocolate bar in your trick-or-treat bag ☺️

It's half-term and Halloween this week, so I've packed What's On with dozens of spooky events and plenty of screen-free fun - because the only thing scarier than Halloween is a whole week of entertaining the kids 😄

Plus, there's Michael Douglas live, Zyair Circus, CSI Swansea, Swansea Science Festival, and tons more.

Whatever you’re up to, have a good one and I’ll catch you on Wednesday!

Andrew.

P.S. 13,000 Swansea locals read the Scoop! Know someone who’d enjoy it? Forward this email to them and ask them to subscribe for free.

WEDNESDAY'S SCOOP (ICYMI) 🦢

Back in March, I shared the story of the Verry Folk, Gower fairies said to have buried Pennard Castle in sand after its lord drove them out of his wedding feast with swords drawn. That same morning, reader Michelle Burridge replied to say she had been turning that same legend into a beautiful children’s picture book.

This week, Michelle tells us about how the book came to be, finding an illustrator through a dragon painting, and why she wants Swansea's children to become "Keepers of the Legends."

THANKS 😊

Thanks for reading the Swansea Scoop. If you enjoyed it, share it with a friend who would find it useful.

Catch you on Wednesday!

Andrew.
