TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Swansea! This is the Swansea Scoop - the local newsletter that's like remembering your cup of tea just before it got too cold 😊

September's here, the kids are back at school (cue parents pretending not to celebrate), and autumn's sneaking up on us like our heating bills.

Still, there's loads happening in Swansea this week to keep you busy - from food and ale festivals to international football, a chance to look inside historic buildings, and Roald Dahl celebrations.

Whatever you're up to, have a good one and I'll catch you on Wednesday!

Andrew.

P.S. Know someone who’d enjoy the Scoop? Please forward this email to them and ask them to subscribe here 🙂 Can

Oysters and afternoon tea at the castle 🦪

The Oystermouth Food & Drink Festival returns next weekend (13th-14th September) within the castle grounds.

Expect great local producers, Welsh brewers, and yes, plenty of oysters! Saturday’s all about fresh seafood, while Sunday’s one big afternoon tea.

Entry is free, with cooking demos under the marquee, along with craft ales, street food, and live music all day.

Plus, there’s plenty to keep the kids entertained including fairground rides, bouncy castles, and face painting!

The event starts at 11 AM both days - Saturday until 7 PM, while Sunday wraps up at 6 PM.

WEDNESDAY'S SCOOP (ICYMI) 🦢

Before TikTok and Instagram, there was Saalah Muhumed - a man who became arguably Swansea's first internet sensation.

This week, let us take you back to 2008, when a simple mistake turned into the kind of absurd spectacle that had the whole city talking - and the internet watching.
