Cheese & Cider Fest, Doggy Disco, Swansea Pride, Brickfest, Eco Market

Plus: Muddy 5K, Julian Clary, Kilo Sale, Live Comedy, Elvis Tribute, and more

Good morning, Swansea! This is the Swansea Scoop. The local newsletter that’s still tipping sand out of its shoes from Tunes on the Bay.

There were two big announcements for the city centre this week: an update on the replacement for Debenhams and a new bar that I think is going to prove very popular! Keep reading for more on both.

Plus, there’s loads going on in Swansea this week (Saturday is especially busy!), with everything from a big Cheese & Cider fest on Gower to Swansea Pride and an Elvis tribute show. How’s that for variety?

Whatever you’re up to, have a good one and I’ll catch you on Wednesday!

Andrew.

SPITFIRE AT SWANSEA AIRPORT TODAY!

Swansea Airport will be teaming up with Fly A Spitfire again this summer to give you the chance to, you guessed it, fly a Spitfire. Well, I say fly, it’s more like take-control-of-the-plane-under-supervision-of-a-pilot-so-you-can-say-you’ve-flown-a-Spitfire flying.

Obviously still very cool, but also quite expensive, starting at over three grand for a 30-minute flight. I know.

But if you’re content with getting up close and personal with this World War 2 classic, it’s on show at Swansea Airport today from 9 AM.

Grab a cuppa in the Whirly Bird Cafe, hear the Spitfire engine roar, and maybe, just maybe… book yourself that once-in-a-lifetime ticket.
