The summer’s in full swing, and Swansea is full of outdoor fun in August.The Gower Show returns to Penrice Castle, Amplitude brings two free nights of live music to the Amphitheatre, and Oystermouth Castle turns into an open-air theatre for three nights running. Plus, there's the Food & Drink Festival, cinema under the stars, a full weekend of maritime celebrations, and tons more.

The world's oldest national youth orchestra closes its 80th anniversary tour with an afternoon concert at Brangwyn Hall, conducted by Carlo Rizzi. A rare chance to catch some of Wales's brightest young musical talent on home turf.

Singleton Park turns into a food and drink playground for the day, with sausages from across the UK paired with 30+ ciders to try, live music and family entertainment thrown in.

Swansea Bay's sands host a high-energy day of beach rugby, with teams from across Wales competing on the shoreline. Free to watch near the Civic Centre.

The Gower Show returns to Penrice Castle for another year of livestock, equine and craft competitions, plus a full programme of countryside displays and entertainment in the main ring.

The UK's biggest touring country festival rolls into Singleton Park for the day, with line dancing, a rodeo bull, axe throwing and tribute sets covering Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen and Shania Twain.

Swansea's outdoor cinema season kicks off at Singleton Park's Lacrosse Field with a sing-along screening of Encanto in the afternoon, followed by a 50th anniversary showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show as the sun goes down.

The city centre transforms into a three-day celebration of food and drink, with Oxford Street, Princess Way and Portland Street given over to street food, artisan traders and independent businesses. Free to attend.

Oystermouth Castle Grounds hosts nine days of nostalgia featuring tribute acts to bands like Fleetwood Mac, Oasis, and ABBA - running through to the Mumbles Classic Cars Show later in the month.

A free weekend of maritime heritage at the National Waterfront Museum and the Marina, with family activities, heritage displays and live music.

Pitton Cross Caravan and Camping Park goes full Viking for a family charity day in aid of Parkinson's, with live re-enactments, stalls, food and a bar. Worth booking parking in advance.

Now in its 14th year, Eid in the Park returns to Singleton Park's Lacrosse Field to celebrate unity, culture and community with food, stalls and family entertainment.

The outdoor cinema season moves to the Amphitheatre for a sing-along screening of Matilda The Musical, followed by an evening showing of Wicked: For Good.

The Beyond Broadway Experience brings its cheerleading musical to Swansea Arena for two nights, mixing competitive cheer with high school politics and romance.

Pontardawe's long-running community music festival returns for a weekend of tribute acts and original artists across multiple stages at the Arts Centre.

Swansea's Urban Village Fete takes over St Mary's Square for a proper old-fashioned village show, transplanted into the city centre. There's a full competition schedule - produce, baking, flowers, creative crafts, photography and children's categories - alongside the usual stalls and family entertainment.

Swansea's free two-day music festival returns to the Amphitheatre, showcasing local and national talent across indie, folk, pop and jazz - Who's Molly are among the acts on the bill.

Illyria brings three nights of open-air theatre to Oystermouth Castle - Shakespeare's As You Like It on the 25th, Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance on the 26th, and a family-friendly Pinocchio on the 27th. Bring a picnic and a chair.

Newton Road closes for an evening of classic cars, rounding off Mumbles Retro Week in style.

Comedian Paul Smith brings his fast-paced crowd work to Swansea Arena for a night of stand-up.

LC Swansea hosts a one-day 90s and Y2K vintage fashion market, with over 40 sellers plus a dedicated clothes swap - bring up to 10 items of your own to trade.

Oystermouth Castle's most popular event returns for the Bank Holiday, with storybook characters, games, storytelling, bubbles and snow effects to send off the summer.
