TOGETHER WITH
Good morning, Swansea! This is the Swansea Scoop. The local newsletter that’s like walking barefoot on a warm patio 😊
How’s your week been? We popped down to Flynn’s, a new delicatessen on Walter Road that opened its doors on Friday. It’s serving some lovely food and drink, alongside a load of fresh bread, meat, cheese, and cupboard staples you probably won’t find anywhere else in Swansea. Check out our video of Flynn’s here.
Back to this week, and it’s bursting with things to do - whether you fancy a laugh with Rob Beckett, getting spooked on a ghost tour, a frolic through a lavender field on Gower.
Whatever you’re up to, have a good one and I’ll catch you on Wednesday!
Andrew

SWANSEA MAN’S EPIC TREK

Credit: BBC News
Ollie Treviso from Swansea recently completed what he believes is a world first - walking the entire length of the Andes mountain range through seven countries.
The 29-year-old trekked over 8,000 miles from Argentina to Venezuela's Caribbean coast, facing everything from falling into gorges to being mugged by a machete-wielding gang during his 20-month journey.
"I'm just a normal guy from an estate in Swansea and I wanted to show that normal people can do these massive adventures," he told the BBC.
The epic trek was inspired by a difficult period following the loss of a family member, and Ollie used it to raise funds for Mind's local Ystradgynlais branch.
Despite the dangers, the kindness of local communities kept him going - over 55 nights, he was given beds in 40 different houses by generous strangers.
Now back home, he's working to get his walk officially recognised as a record-breaking achievement.
Got a local story about someone doing something extraordinary in Swansea? Reply and tell us all about it - we might just feature it here!
