12 Social And Beginner Running Clubs in Swansea 🏃➡️

Good morning, Swansea! Thinking of lacing up your trainers in 2025? This week, I’ve gathered together a list of some of Swansea’s best beginner and social running clubs.

Whether you’re a regular runner looking to make some friends and socialise, or perhaps a complete beginner hoping to earn your Couch to 5K stripes, there are loads of friendly running clubs across Swansea to choose from.

RAD Runners is an inclusive running community that promotes safety after dark, with a relaxed vibe and a social pace. All are welcome and they meet on Tuesdays at 6.30 PM for a 5km or 8km run from Beer Riff in Swansea Marina.
Just one of thousands of events throughout the UK under the same banner, Swansea Bay parkrun is a free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k walk, jog, or run - or just head down to volunteer or spectate. It’s held every Saturday at 9 AM, starting from The Secret Beach Bar & Kitchen.

You Jack Runners is an intermediate-level social running group that meets every Tuesday evening at 6.15 PM at various locations throughout Swansea and surrounding areas for a 10-12km social run.
This social running club meets every Sunday morning at 8.45 AM at Full of Graze in, you guessed it, Mumbles. Join them for either a 5km or 10km run, returning back to Full of Graze for refreshments.

Bay Fitness hosts a free Sunday morning social run at Langland Bay, starting at 9 AM. Join them for a 5K run/walk (or shorter, depending on what you can manage), with a sea dip to cool down and a cuppa (to warm up again!) afterwards.

Join KO Gym and Recov Hub Swansea for a casual, beginner-friendly 5K run every Sunday morning at 8.45 AM, starting and finishing from Crafty Smuggler Coffee in Sandfields.
Swansea Striders is a social running group for all abilities, meeting Thursdays at 6 PM from the Strand Car Park and Sundays at 10:30 AM from the Recreation Ground car park opposite the Secret Bar & Kitchen. They offer varied sessions like speed, hills, and group runs.

Gower Trail Blazers is based in North Gower and meets once or twice a week for a guided run Gower trails and coastal paths, with shorter and longer options for many runs, depending on your ability.
Beginner Running Clubs in Swansea
If you’re more in the market for a running club that is professionally organised, but still welcoming and inclusive to beginners, here is a selection of friendly groups from across Swansea.

Named after the factory that was a landmark in Gorseinon for so long, this running group welcomes runners of all ages and abilities. Their normal training time is Wednesday evening from 6.15 PM - 7.30 PM at Garden Village FC in Gorseinon. However, in the winter months they often take advantage of other locations, including the Swansea University athletics track.
The Tri Hard Harriers are a Welsh Athletics and Triatholon Cymru-affiliated club, encouraging all abilities to take part (5km minimum) - from beginners to triathletes. They host a variety of training sessions every week, including the club’s 10k TT on Sunday.

The Paul Popham Running Club was set up to encourage people to learn to run for life - from zero to running your very first half marathon! They regularly start 8-week programmes to get you running up to 5K, plus regular sessions on Sunday (9 AM - 10 AM) and Wednesday (6 PM - 7 PM), meeting at the LC2.

Clwb Rehedeg Pontardawe Running Club (CRPRC) is a Welsh Athletics-affiliated running club for all abilities, based in the Neath and Swansea Valley. It hosts regular Couch to 5K beginner courses from Pontardawe Leisure Centre car park, as well as regular running group.
Bonus: Fiercely Fit With Gemma Pugh
Join Dewi for a women’s-only Beginner Running Club for beginner and intermediate runners, part of Fiercely Fit With Gemma Pugh. It runs from Derwen Fawr and in Gowerton and is perfect for those new to running, or just getting back into it.
